Ya know that interview question that's like "describe yourself in one word?" My word would be festive. While that most likely won't land me a job in a big corporate law firm, it'll get me through this blog post. Short of taking a trip to the North Pole and baking with Mrs. Claus, here are a few things you can do to start speaking Christmas Cheer.

I'm headed to India in about a week, so I've been trying to squeeze Christmas in between studying for finals. This made for a jam-packed Saturday. Daniel and I picked up my siblings and headed to Barnes Tree Farm for some cider, cookies, candy canes, and an endless stream of photos. Our hands may have frozen, but it was well worth it. And we did it all in less than an hour so I could still make my study session. Moral of the story: there's always time. This marks the second year that Daniel and I have gone to Barnes Tree Farm now. I'm not sure how many consecutive years something has to happen to be a tradition, so I'm going to count this as one of mine. Of course it's important to always try new things, but I'm in love with the idea of traditions. In four years I'll be able to look back over pictures from all the years in the same place with the same person and see how we've grown.
One more week to winter break, to family, to home cooked meals...how could anyone be expected to get anything done while counting down the days to happiness? But finals are here and we have to buckle down and push thoughts of Christmas morning out of our heads. For now. Here are a few of the things that are keeping me alive during the last agonizing week of tests.
If you're anything like me, the holidays can be a somewhat stressful time. On top of making DIY decorations, crafting the perfect holiday menu, and finding an outfit for every holiday gathering, you also have to give gifts. Finding the perfect present takes research, budgeting, and endless hours of comparing items. I've compiled a list of my favorites that I hope will help you on your way to Best Gift Giver. (And ladies, always remember to check the men's section too.)
